Film trailer analysis

A trailer is an attempt to sell the film to its target audience. This advertisement shows snippets of the film the audience would fine enjoyable. This is to show also what the film it about and the apart of the storyline behind it. But they try to keep you interested by only showing you part of the storyline as they do not want to give away too much.
The Blind Side

This film is a drama similar to the film we would like to do. From the first few seconds of the trailer we see an establishing shot that shows who the main character doing her usual day to day life as a wife and mother, and the music is very happy and fast.  Then the music changes and we get to see the second main character and how his life differs from that or the Tuohy family. They show where and how the two worlds of one southern housewife and one poor oversized, homeless and uneducated black teenager, collided.

This is one of the key elements of the story, and the scene they use to show this is perfect as it expresses the true vulnerability of Big Mick and the kind but stern mother Leigh Anne is. The scene is basically Big Mick being discovered by Leigh Anne and being taken in by her and her family. The music after that changes to a quite implicational and upbeat as we see Big Mick blossom under Leigh Anne’s care. And we see at the end of the trailer how Leigh Anne’s hard shell has been slightly softened by the presents of Big Mick in her life. The trailer how ever does not include many main features of the film, as they do not want to give too much away. The trailer is effective because you connect with the charters.
